Catherine is an Associate Attorney at Rios & Cruz, joining the firm in 2015. She practices exclusively immigration law, including removal defense, family-based petitions, adjustment of status, waivers, citizenship applications, VAWA applications, U visas, asylum, and appeals before the Board of Immigration Appeals, the Administrative Appeals Office, and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Prior to joining Rios & Cruz, Catherine was a Staff Attorney at the International Institute of Wisconsin, where she represented low-income immigrants in affirmative applications before U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. Catherine focused her law school studies on immigration law, gaining experience as a Student Attorney at the DePaul Asylum and Immigration Law Clinic, as well as volunteering with the National Immigrant Justice Center, the Illinois Coalition for Immigrant & Refugee Rights, and the South Texas Pro Bono Asylum Representation Project in Harlingen, TX. In recognition of her pro bono service, Catherine was awarded DePaul’s President’s Award for Service and a Certificate in Public Interest Law.
